High-rise construction projects in Qatar continue to grow rapidly, and HBK Contracting is looking for a skilled professional to join their team and help deliver a landmark building project to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Supervision
- Supervise daily civil and construction activities as per approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
- Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors for efficient site operations.
- Ensure construction activities align with the approved project programme.
- Supervise structural works including excavation, foundations, columns, beams, slabs, and walls.
- Supervise finishing works such as masonry, plastering, waterproofing, tiling, and external works.
- Verify dimensions, levels, alignment, and elevations throughout construction.
2. Drawings & Technical Coordination
- Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and project documents before work begins.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies between architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Coordinate with consultants, QA/QC engineers, MEP teams, and subcontractors.
- Prepare and raise RFIs/TQs for technical clarifications.
- Ensure only the latest approved drawings and documents are used on site.
3. QA/QC
- Ensure construction activities comply with approved specifications, ITPs, method statements, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate inspections with QA/QC engineers and client/consultant representatives.
- Prepare inspection requests and ensure readiness for inspection.
- Monitor concrete, reinforcement, formwork, and waterproofing activities.
- Follow up on NCRs and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Maintain proper testing, inspection, and quality records.
4. HSE Responsibilities
- Ensure all site activities comply with approved method statements, risk assessments, and project HSE requirements.
- Participate in toolbox talks, daily coordination meetings, and safety briefings.
- Identify unsafe conditions and stop unsafe work immediately when necessary.
- Ensure workers comply with PPE and safe working practices.
- Monitor high-risk activities such as work at height, lifting operations, excavation, and confined spaces.
- Comply with QatarEnergy HSE requirements and Permit to Work (PTW) procedures.
5. Progress Monitoring
- Monitor daily and weekly construction progress against the approved programme.
- Prepare daily site reports and progress updates.
- Identify delays, constraints, and potential risks, and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate with the Planning Engineer on progress measurement and reporting.
6. Materials Management
- Verify delivered materials against approved submittals and project specifications.
- Ensure materials are properly stored, protected, and handled on site.
- Coordinate material inspections and approvals, and monitor usage to minimize wastage.
7. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain site records, inspection requests, RFIs/TQs, drawings, and reports.
- Maintain records of concrete pours, testing, inspections, and approvals.
- Assist in preparing as-built drawings, handover documents, and project close-out records.
- Ensure all site documentation is properly maintained and controlled.
Qualifications Required
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, with MMUP/UPDA registration and Qatar authority approvals.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of relevant site engineering experience, preferably on high-rise building projects.
