Last updated: July 9, 2026

If you've ever dreamed of working on India's most ambitious infrastructure project, here's your chance. The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) — the organisation building the Mumbai–Ahmedabad Bullet Train corridor — has released a recruitment notification for 209 non-executive positions. Applications close on 14 July 2026, so if you're eligible, don't wait until the last minute.

Here's everything you need to know about the NHSRCL Recruitment 2026 drive, explained simply.

What Is This Recruitment About?

NHSRCL is looking to strengthen the Operations & Maintenance team for the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) project — India's first bullet train corridor. The 209 vacancies are spread across two grades:

  • Deputy Engineer / Deputy Chief Controller — 34 posts (NE-6 grade)
  • Junior Engineer / Controller / Train Manager / Station Manager — 175 posts (NE-4 grade)

These openings span multiple technical departments, including:

  • Civil
  • Track
  • Electrical
  • Signalling & Telecom (S&T)
  • Rolling Stock
  • Operations
  • AFC (Automatic Fare Collection) Systems
  • Safety

Who Can Apply?

This is important: this recruitment is on an absorption basis, not an open-market hiring drive for freshers or the general public. It's specifically meant for:

  • Regular or contractual employees currently working in the Operations & Maintenance departments of
    • Indian Railways
    • Government-owned or operated Railways
    • Metro Railways
    • RRTS (Regional Rapid Transit System)

If you're already working in one of these organisations and meet the qualification and experience criteria, you're eligible to apply. Open-market candidates without this background are not eligible for this particular drive.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: A 3-year Diploma / BE / B.Tech in the relevant engineering discipline (for technical posts), or a relevant qualification for Operations/Management roles.
  • Experience: Relevant post-qualification work experience in the concerned field, verified as on 31 May 2026.
  • Age Limit: Maximum 45 years (as on 31 May 2026), with age relaxation applicable as per government rules.

On top of the basic pay, selected candidates get HRA, medical benefits, EPF, gratuity, and other perks as per corporation rules — a solid package for a central PSU role.

The selection process typically involves:

  1. Online application and document verification
  2. Computer Based Test (CBT)
  3. Interview / further shortlisting rounds (as applicable)
  4. Medical fitness examination (A-3 or A-1 standard depending on the post)

Note: NHSRCL may conduct the CBT for all posts within a group on the same day and time — which is why candidates can apply for only one post per vacancy group.

  • Selected candidates will be on probation for one year.
  • Postings can be anywhere in NHSRCL offices or the MAHSR project corridor.
  • If training is provided, candidates must sign a surety bond and commit to serving NHSRCL for a minimum period after training.
