Current Job Openings - Engineering Department
Torrent Power is currently recruiting for three critical positions in their Renewable Energy - Engineering Department:
Position 1: Civil Design Engineer
Department: Executive/AM Civil Design Engineering
Qualification Required: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering
Experience: 5+ Years
Location: Ahmedabad (Interviews in Vadodara)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of RCC/STEEL buildings and infrastructure for renewable energy projects
- Prepare and review technical specifications for civil works including MMS, pile foundations, and road layouts
- Design and analyze Module Mounting Structures (MMS) using STAAD and other structural tools
- Conduct site surveys, topographical assessments, and feasibility studies
- Prepare BOQ and cost estimates for civil and structural components
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, environmental norms, and safety regulations
- Proficiency in STAAD Pro, AutoCAD, Revit/Solid works, and other design tools
Position 2: Substation/PSS Electrical Design Engineer
Department: Executive/AM Substation/PSS Electrical Design Engineering
Qualification Required: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience: 5+ Years
Location: Ahmedabad (Interviews in Vadodara)
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical substations (AIS & GIS) up to 400kV for power transmission
- Work on renewable energy projects including solar, wind, BESS, and hybrid plants
- Ensure designs meet industry codes and standards (IS, IEC, CBIP, CEA, IEEE)
- Develop technical specifications, bill of materials, and review all drawings
- Collaborate with project teams, clients, and vendors
- Utilize AutoCAD, ETAP, and other engineering software for accurate modeling
Position 3: Solar Electrical Design Engineer
Department: Executive/AM Solar Electrical Design Engineering
Qualification Required: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience: 5+ Years
Location: Ahmedabad (Interviews in Vadodara)
Key Responsibilities:
- String sizing, module layout, cable sizing, voltage drop studies
- Inverter/load center sizing; AC distribution; earthing/grounding; lightning protection
- Selection of switchgear (ACB/MCCB/VCB), relays, and protection schemes
- IS/IEC/CEA/CBIP standard knowledge
- SCADA scheme preparation and understanding
- Performance engineering including energy yield assessment (PVsyst/Helioscope/Solar GIS)
- Cable loss optimization, inverter clipping analysis, transformer/inverter matching, BOQ preparation
